The Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Staff at Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center is made up of physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, and physical therapist assistants.
Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center Sports Medicine Physical Therapy staff is trained to evaluate and treat a wide variety of injuries, from a simple ankle sprain to reconstructive knee surgery to a torn rotator cuff. The evaluation consists of examining a patient's muscle performance, joint mobility, flexibility, posture, and movement control.
A rehabilitation program is developed from the results of the initial evaluation. Rehabilitation programs consist of therapeutic exercises, modalities to relieve pain and inflammation, and guidelines for progressive return to prior activity level. The rehabilitation is supervised by physical therapists, certified athletic trainers and physical therapist assistants.
