Rehab Nursing

The Nursing Department at Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center is staffed with highly qualified Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Unit Clerks. Each Registered Nurse devotes their comprehensive clinical skills to providing care that is second to none in the rehabilitation nursing field. The standards of nursing care are uncompromised and many of the nurses have proven their dedication to rehabilitation and their commitment to excellence by obtaining certification in rehabilitation.

Nursing team members participate in education programs and in-services frequently to ensure safe, quality patient care. The nursing assistants are caring and compassionate and possess highly advanced clinical skills. Unit clerks effectively coordinate care on the unit to ensure dependable and efficient delivery of care. The entire nursing team is led by physicians who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about providing superior patient care.

On admission, the physician, nurse, and nursing assistant complete a comprehensive medical history and physical examination. Nurses work cooperatively with our physicians, therapists, and medical social workers throughout the patient's stay to develop a care regimen that is individualized and appropriate. A plan of care can then be established to ensure safe, effective delivery of care that supports the patient's discharge plan. The rehabilitation team meets regularly as a group and with the patient to make certain that the plan of care complements the needs of the patient. Follow-up care is provided to patients as needed after discharge from the Center.

At Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center, all team members will "answer the call". This means that when a patient activates the call system, any team member must respond to ensure that patient needs are met immediately. Patient satisfaction is our number one priority!
