I just wanted to drop you a few lines to let you know that my voice therapist "saved my life"!
In the course of treatment, I would remark about my difficulty breathing. This particular day I told them my breathing was getting worse, especially when walking any distance (as the 50 or so feet from my desk to the bathroom at work). By the time I got there I was exhausted and ready to pass out sometimes.
Your therapist remarked that this sounded like there might be some heart involvement and asked the nurse to see me. The suggested that I see my primary physician about this, and before I knew it I had an appointment with my doctor and he scheduled an echocardiogram, which showed (listen to this!) that I had a blocked artery and what they thought was a bad valve.
I turned out to have a blocked artery and needed a stint. Now I'm doing fine, breath much better, and have more energy. Thank God. And thanks to your therapist.
I enjoy working with the SRRC staff. They are very professional and thorough (and have a good sense of humor). I originally thought it would be dry, uninteresting form of therapy. But it turned out just the opposite.
I just wanted you to know that I would definitely recommend your rehab center to a friend!
I could have had a heart attack, but it was avoided by someone who cared beyond their job scope. Thanks again!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the excellent care I received at SW Rehab. I am a fifty years young above-the-knee amputee. When I arrived, I was feeling very nearly deflated, with little physical strength and even less self confidence. My therapist's skill, compassion, and positive energy gave me new life.
The skill I learned will stay with me for the rest of my life. I now pride myself by applying what I have learned and look forward to the challenges of each new day, instead of cringing at the very thought of another day.
I also want to thank SW Rehab for allowing me to attend the inservice with two other amputees. They really inspired and encouraged me.
My therapist gave me so much, and I am very grateful to her. I just want to say "Thank You" to everyone for being so nice. I send everyone a great big hug.

I'm in the Transitional Outpatient Program and it's been fantastic. I think it's great to go home at night. It makes me feel a heck of a lot better. The personnel at Southwest are fabulous. They treat us with such care.

Before coming to Southwest Regional Rehab Center I had a rough start to a simple knee operation, which scared me to death. When I came to Southwest Regional I was so impressed I just had to write.
Doctor Yilmaz is a soft-spoken, loving of face, gentle-mannered man who really knows his business.
His staff of nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, etc., are the kindest and sweetest I have ever seen.
After only five days under their care I was able to go home.
Southwest Regional deserves a feather in its hat.
