From Where Do Our Patients Come?

As Southwest has provided physical rehabilitation in Battle Creek for over 40 years, it is natural to assume that our patients all live in Battle Creek.  In reality, as we are a Regional Center for Rehabilitation, patients come to us from throughout Calhoun & Kalamazoo Counties and beyond.  A review of our referrals over the past year reveals that our 1,090 referrals came from physicians associated with the following hospitals:

Of the 1,090 referrals, only 576 (53%) were admitted as they must meet certain “medical necessity” requirements established by the federal government to be eligible for the intense rehabilitation we provide at Southwest. (see article on “Who Do We Serve”?)
